A Note from Fr. Carmen

My friends, as we enter into the new Liturgical year we begin it with the joyful season of Advent. Advent is a time that we prepare not only to celebrate Christ's birthday, but a time in which we prepare ourselves for the 2nd coming-the return of Jesus Christ on earth. We here at Holy Spirit will offer the sacrament of Reconciliation not only on Saturdays from 4-4:45 but after the celebration of all weekend Masses during the season of Advent. Our children will have an opportunity to celebrate the sacrament during Faith Formation. Every Wednesday evening during Adoration, we will be reciting the Rosary as well as before all weekend Masses.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Image what would you say

Teaching the faith has been done in many ways for many years in Catholic Church history. The early church (before RCIA classes were developed) used different ways and teaching tools to enlighten people in what the Catholic church was and as a way of bringing in new members. In 1972 RCIA was officially developed as a class in the church and became the beginning journey for people interested in the Catholic Faith. Come join us in your journey of faith!
When;     Every Monday,  7 pm to 9 pm
Where;    At Holy Spirit Catholic Church

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

We stand before you, Holy Spirit, Come to us, remain in us, and enlighten our hearts. Give us light and strength to know your will, To make it our own, and to live it in our lives. Guide us by your wisdom, support us by your power, Do not allow us to be misled by ignorance Or corrupted by fear or favor. Unite us to yourself in the bond of love And keep us faithful to all that is true. As we gather in your name, may we temper justice with love, so that all our discussions and reflections may be pleasing to you, and earn the reward promised to good and faithful servants. Amen.

Based on a prayer of the Vatican II Council Fathers, 1962 Taken from the YOUCAT Youth Prayer Book page 63

Thank You!
